Provincial Priory of Northampton Huntingdon & Bedford

50th Anniversary

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Installation of EmKt Stan Wilford into the Wendlynburgh Preceptory No.236. He became its Eminent Preceptor in 1978 and in his later years his talents as Organist were much appreciated by the Brother Knights.

Sadly EmKt Stan’s health precludes him from attending the Preceptory these days and so, on 25th September, to celebrate this very special occasion, the Provincial Prior, RtEmKt Roger Wortley, accompanied by EmKts Arthur March, Barrie Hall and Jeff Chambers (Eminent Preceptor) visited EmKt Stan’s home in Wellingborough to present him with a splendid Certificate commemorating his magnificent 50year membership of the Order.

He and his wife, Jessie, were delighted to welcome the delegation into their home. They remain devoted to one another and in a few days’ time, on November 6th this year, will celebrate their 70th (Platinum) Wedding Anniversary – another incredible achievement from an amazing couple.

EmKt Stan remarked that he had enjoyed a wonderful 50 years in the Order. He added “It’s been so good for me in every way; and I hope just as good for those others who have shared all or part of it with me.”

We wish Stan and Jessie a wonderful anniversary celebration with their family and much good health and happiness in the future.
